Social and Events

The fun on the farm is continuing with a full winter programme:
INVITATION: Church Farm, Thursday Community Club
What makes a healthy village community? Other small villages may look longingly at Ardeley’s school, the church, the pub and now the local farm store and café. They may not be aware that there are strong community elements in Ardeley too: the WI, Leisure Club, Friends of Ardeley Church Trust and Friends of Ardeley School.
Local rural enterprises not only provide services and employment but also help sustain this life and vitality in the community. The energetic team that has developed at Church Farm is part of your village community and in turn we want you to feel part of Church Farm. We extend a warm invitation to local people to a regular Thursday evening social.
Join us at 7pm for 7.15 sit down for a great two course traditional meal, cooked using produce from the farm, followed by tea or coffee for just £7.50 for 1 course, £10 for 2 courses. Then stay after the meal to chat with the farm staff, or play cards, dominoes, chess or draughts. Tell us what your favourite meals are.
Tell us what other after dinner entertainment you would like to enliven your Thursday evening: a film night, a talk, bingo or a beetle drive?
You may sign up in the farm store, giving us at least a day’s notice please. The dishes of the day will be advertised. If you cannot make it to the store then you are welcome to phone or e-mail.

Children’s parties
Have fun on the farm for your little ones. If your children love animals we can offer them a treat. Up to ten children at a time can enjoy a bouncy ride around the farm in the Land Rover, with stops to feed the pigs and the chickens. Parties can sometimes be stressful affairs but we find that any squabbling is restricted to whether the calves are sweeter than the piglets or whether or not we will get stuck in the mud.
For larger groups, walking tours, with a treasure trail (still including feeding the animals) can be organised as an alternative to the Land Rover ride.
You are welcome to photograph the children on our classic red tractor. Or we can do this for you and produce 15cmx10cm prints for £1 each. Larger prints are available on request.
A table will be reserved in the café for a tea party using quality ingredients from the farm: egg sandwiches, chicken or ham or beef sandwiches (or vegetarian or other fillings by arrangement), sausages and vegetable sticks. The children love their individual pig cake to eat at tea time or else they could take home the pig cake and share a birthday cake at tea time.
Suitable for children of all ages in groups of 6 to 30 places.
